A classic Mee Godard origami of breathlessly fine contours, chiselled sinew; unfolding corners into shapes, phrases into stories written between the lines. The flute-like purity of the fruit reminds me of Maya Angelou’s line, ‘she carried the music in her body as if it were a private thing, given into her care and protection’. There is only one other wine I’ve found this in. The long leitmotif of dark-red fruit – velvet, chypre-scented, lithographic at heart – curve-carves a parabola in the mouth. Quiet, taut beauty; serious but irresistible. (TC)
